Should Parents Have a Choice?

Let's assume that parents object to part of the social studies textbooks there children are required to read. Do I think that parent should be able to request for there children to not be able to read parts they find objective? Yes I do believe that, that is reasonable. Every parent has the right to allow kids to read what they believe is better for them.
Some parents may not want there kids to read parts because they didn't want to explain something to there children or it's worse for the child if they read it. Maybe a kid gets really put down and upset when they hear about how badly blacks were treated. It is none of our business to make other parents kids read the whole social studies books. We do not know the circumstance of the child. So yes I do believe parents should have the right to do that.
